Joe Arview and The Thunder Band Joe was born on August 25, 1963 in Benton, Illinois. He married Dee in 1985. They have three children - all boys - Patrick, J.W., and Shannon. Raised in a musical family, Joe started playing country music at an early age. By fifteen, he was playing in clubs all around the southern Illinois area and had gained a reputation as a lead guitarist. However, in 1984, Joe rededicated his life to the Lord and gave the music to God. Since then, God has blessed Joe with talent as a singer and songwriter. His songs are centered around everyday circumstances where Joe has learned to see God. According to Joe, many of his songs are “merely an observation of what the Lord has done in the life of the common man.” Joe arranges all his own projects; keeping his CDs fresh and alive from the first track to the last. As a singer, Joe’s rich baritone voice comes through with a country style that makes him not only an artist, but a musical stylist. Though he is currently a music evangelist, Joe feels that his experience pastoring two churches has given him compassion for the people of God and a heart for the ministry. The Thunder Band is, first and foremost, a family band—in every sense of the word. The five-member band grew up together in rural in Southern Illinois, where they learned to play and sing at a young age. Not only are they all related, but they are also close friends. They are also a family band in the sense that they are of strong moral character and hold to traditions and values passed on from generations before them. These values are present not only when they are performing, but before and after a show as well. Thunder has preformed in many large venues, including the Illinois State Fair; the DuQuoin State Fair; the Troubadour Theatre in Nashville, Tennessee; Circle Cross Crusade at the AgriCenter Showplace Arena in Memphis, Tennessee; “Conquering the Beast” Pro Bull Riding League in DuQuoin, Illinois; and NASCAR events at the Talladega Super Speedway, Michigan International Speedway, Chicago Land Speedway, and Pocono Speedway; community festivals and of course churches. Thunder is able to work with any sound and lighting company. However, they also have their own equipment, which is able to accommodate crowds of up to three thousand people.
